Fall Camp Report - August 14

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Football moved one practice closer to the 2025 season after completing a morning session on Thursday (Aug. 14).

Head coach Barry Odom and his staff continue to work through fall camp evaluating positional battles with 81 new additions to the program. The team as a whole is progressing well as the Boilermakers continue fall camp.

“Now when you look at how we function, we’re starting to look like a team,” said Odom. “You have to be deliberate in making sure guys understand what they’re supposed to do and what is the expectation and standard.”

Purdue is set for its second scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday, closed to the public and media, and will be the program's big test ahead of the opener against Ball State on Aug. 30.

“Offensively, do we take care of the ball and move the ball down the field," said Odom. "Defensively, eliminate explosive plays, stop the run, force takeaways, get them in third down situations and find a way to get off the field. Special teams, we’ve got a lot of good work in, and we’re making progress in that area.”

The Boilermakers take to the practice field on Friday (Aug. 15) ahead of the scrimmage on Saturday (Aug. 16).

"We represent something so much bigger than ourselves, and I’m excited about the group that I get a chance to work with every day."
