Purdue Opens Fall Camp

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Football officially opened fall camp on Thursday morning (July 31) inside the Mollenkopf Athletic Center. The session was Purdue’s first fall practice in the Barry Odom era.

“The amount of work that our team staff put in made it a very smooth start in all areas,” said Odom. “It was a very good start to fall camp.”

The first day of fall camp featured high energy and excitement to begin the preseason process. As fall camp progresses into the season, both Odom and director of football strength and conditioning Kiero Small stressed the importance of training in the weight room training.

“We want to make sure as the season progresses that our team gets stronger, more flexible and faster,” said Small. “The better you are at gaining strength throughout the season, the better the team will be.”

Odom is pleased with the work done during the summer sessions and the progress that needs to continue heading into the season.

“We’ll keep making strides," said Odom. "We understand the process of how important every single day and rep is. Our guys understand that and the urgency that it takes to get ready for game number one.”
