WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Baseball returns to it most frequent home away from home this decade – the North Main Athletic Complex in Holly Springs, N.C. – for its final pre-conference weekend, taking on Marist for a four-game set.

The Boilermakers’ only four-game weekend series of the season features a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m. plus single games Friday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The North Main Athletic Complex resumed using its original name in December after previously being known as Ting Park and Ting Stadium. Ting is an internet provider in the Raleigh area. The playing surface at the home of the Holly Springs Salamanders (Coastal Plain League) continues to bear the name of Dick Sears, a 20-year mayor of Holly Springs who passed away in 2022.

The 2022 season also marked Purdue’s first appearance in Holly Springs, playing seven games in the Raleigh suburb. The Boilermakers are now 22-5 at the NMAC since 2022 and 29-8 in neutral-site games in North Carolina since playing in the Chapel Hill Regional at the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Marist University is based in the city of Poughkeespie, N.Y. on the east bank of the Hudson River. The Red Foxes are a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and made seven NCAA Regional appearances from 1997-2017. They spent their first two weekends of this season in the state of Tennessee, suffering series sweeps at the hands of ETSU and Vanderbilt.

Purdue and Marist are both scheduled to open their home schedules next week, including conference play during the first full weekend of March. The Boilermakers also played a member of the MAAC, Niagara, in Holly Springs last season.

YEARLY HIGHLIGHTS IN HOLLY SPRINGS
• 2022: The Boilermakers won 4 times in walk-off fashion (2 vs. Princeton, 2 vs. Longwood) as part of 15-0 start. Both games of the Feb. 26 doubleheader vs. Princeton were walk-off wins. Purdue and Longwood battled for 13 innings Saturday and 11 innings Friday.
• 2023: Another walk-off win (in the series opener) as part of a 2-2 series split with NJIT. The following weekend vs. Akron, Purdue erupted for 53 runs over the final three games of the series after dropping a 2-1 pitcher’s duel in the opener. It was the only season in which the Boilermakers lost multiple games in Holly Springs.
• 2024: The Boilermakers won 3 of 4 in a contentious series vs. a George Mason team that played in an NCAA Regional the year prior. Purdue scored 32 runs over the final three games of the series, erupting for a 10-run bottom of the fifth to win the finale by run rule (11-1) after seven innings. The Boilers played the next weekend at ECU’s Keith LeClair Classic in Greenville, N.C., facing All-American and future World Series starter Trey Yesavage (ECU) on Friday before rebounding with wins vs. Southeastern Louisiana and Cal State Fullerton.
• 2025: Purdue won 7 of 8 over consecutive four-game weekend series vs. Niagara (4-0) and Akron (3-1). CJ Richmond connected for a pair of home runs in the finale of the Niagara series. The Boilermakers connected for three consecutive home runs in the seventh inning of game 3 of the Akron series, with Aaron Manias, Sergio DeCello and Brandon Rogers teaming up for the game-tying fireworks. It marked the first time the Boilermakers had accomplished the feat since April 2021. Logan Sutter’s six-hit, five-RBI, 14-total base performance in game 2 vs. Niagara was a record-setting effort and somewhat overshadowed a dominant weekend for the Purdue pitching staff. The Purdue pitching staff allowed only nine runs in the series and posted zeros in the 30 of the 36 frames. The Boilermakers struck out 17 in game 3 and 16 in the finale, with the 33 Ks representing the most in consecutive games in team history.
