Softball Set for Home Opener vs. Indiana State

The Purdue softball team (14-12) is set for its first pair of home games today with a doubleheader vs. Indiana State (13-11). Not only will it mark the first home appearance for the Boilermakers after 26 road games to start the season, but will kick off a season of free admission to Bittinger Stadium for all fans.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue softball team (14-12) is set for its first pair of home games today with a doubleheader vs. Indiana State (13-11). Not only will it mark the first home appearance for the Boilermakers after 26 road games to start the season, but will kick off a season of free admission to Bittinger Stadium for all fans.

LOOKING BACK: SPRING BREAK IN MISSISSIPPI
  • #27 Olivia McFadden led the team in total bases (8), slugging pct. (.500), runs batted in (4), and walks (4).
  • #3 Tyrina Jones led the team in runs scored (3), hits (6), stolen bases (3), and fielding assists (18).
  • Batting average was led by #28 Jordyn Ramos (.333) followed by #27 Olivia McFadden (.313) and #9 Jade Moy (.300).
  • #20 Kendall Klochack pitched 9 innings with an ERA of 9.0.
  • #17 Mo Wimpee pitched 11.1 innings with an ERA of 3.71.
  • #20 Kendal Klochack and #17 Mo Wimpee both stuck out 6 batters.

  • Leading the team in batting average is #12 Isabella Henning (.444) followed by #0 Olivia Patton (.279) and #11 Danielle Henning (.277).
  • #2 Lexi Benko leads in pitching with an ERA of 1.59 followed by #20 Cassi Newbanks (2.27).
  • The team is currently riding a five-game winning streak.
  • The Sycamores began their conference slate on Sunday, and took the 3-0 series victory vs. UIC, all coming in five-inning run-rule fashion.
 
SCOUTING NEBRASKA (19-9)
  • Leading the team in batting average is #66 Katelyn Caneda (.405) followed by #11 Talia Tokheim (.378) and #5 Mya Felder (.364).
  • #2 Sarah Harness leads in pitching with an ERA of 2.91 followed by #23 Courtney Wallace (3.26).
  • The teams overall record on the season so far is 19-9.
  • Significant wins include a 4-3 win versus #21 Texas A&M and a 10-3 win versus #16 Arizona.
