WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With three weeks remaining in the regular season, the Purdue softball team (19-24, 2-9 Big Ten) is set for a three-game series vs. Michigan State (21-24, 1-13 Big Ten) within the friendly confines of Bittinger Stadium.

The series, which will be streamed on B1G+, is set for Friday at 5 p.m. ET, Saturday at 2 p.m. ET and a 1 p.m. ET start Sunday.
 
PURDUE IN THE RANKINGS

• The Boilermakers lead the Big Ten with 12 triples this season and are seventh in homers with 28.
• Defensively, Purdue boasts 331 assists, fourth-most in the Big Ten. Meanwhile the team's .967 fielding % checks in at No. 8 in the Big Ten.
• Rachel Becker ranks ninth in the league with a .402 batting average and eighth in on-base % at .496.

 
PURDUE BOILERMAKERS AT A GLANCE

• As a team, Purdue owns a .267 batting average while holding opponents to a .292.
• Catcher and team captain Kaeley Hallada put the Boilers on the board against Northwestern last Sunday (4/17) with a 2-run homer, her first home run since notching the game-winner at No. 22 USF (3/17).
• Becker leads Purdue in multiple categories, including batting average (.402), runs (32), hits (47) and on-base % (.496). Meanwhile, Echazarreta takes the edge in RBI (28) and also leads the team with a .670 slugging % and seven home runs.
• The Boilermaker defense has gone errorless in 17 games this season

 
MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS AT A GLANCE

• Purdue enters the weekend 17-5 against the Spartans when at home and won the series the last time the Boilermakers went to East Lansing.
• As a team, Michigan State is averaging a .263 batting average, while holding opponents to a .223.
• Jessica Mabrey has one of the sharpest eyes in the league, ranking third among all Big Ten players with 28 walks this season (three shy of the Big Ten leader).
• The Boilermakers are set to face one of the nation's toughest pitchers in Ashley Miller. As the Big Ten leader and No. 9 in the nation with 159.2 innings pitched, Miller also is third in the league and No. 7 in the nation with 218 batters struck out, all while maintaining a 1.67 ERA (third-best in the Big Ten).
• Miller is coming off of a 10-strikeout performance (4/19 vs. Michigan). She is fourth in MSU's record books for single season strikeouts with 218.

 
THE UNDERCLASSMEN

• The underclassmen have accounted for 51% of Purdue's runs this season (78 runs).
• Freshmen Olivia McFadden (3B), Jade Moy (2B) have each started every game of the season. Together, they average a .255 batting average and a .946 fielding %.
• Outfielder Kyndall Bailey has stepped up, playing in all but five games, starting in over half of them (25 of 43 games). Bailey has tallied 10 hits and five runs thus far in her inaugural campaign and owns an on-base % of .309.
• Tyrina Jones made her collegiate debut at The Spring Games following a return from injury, and has since started at first base in all but one of the outings. Jones has contributed four runs, 10 hits and three RBI.
