Ryan Grubbs is in his second season as assistant director of football strength & conditioning. He was hired Feb. 2, 2019.
Grubbs joined the Boilermakers after serving one year as the lead assistant strength & conditioning coach at Louisiana Tech. He was director of baseball strength & conditioning and assistant for football, working with the Bulldogs’ running backs, linebackers, tight ends and quarterbacks.
Prior to Louisiana Tech, Grubbs spent two years at the University of Mississippi, first as a football strength & conditioning volunteer assistant before moving up as assistant coordinator of strength & conditioning. He worked with the Rebels’ women’s basketball and men’s golf programs in the latter role.
Grubbs got his start in collegiate athletics at the University of Indianapolis, where he worked as an intern assistant strength & conditioning coach for one year before being promoted to associate director of strength & conditioning for two years.
Grubbs graduated from IUPUI in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He is a certified strength & conditioning coach by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Level 1 sports performance coach by USA Weightlifting.
