Eron Hodges in is his second season as director of player personnel. He was hired April 25, 2018.
In his first year at Purdue, Hodges helped compile the Boilermakers’ highest-rated recruiting class in over a decade. Filled with highly touted prospects on both sides of the ball, Purdue’s 2019 class was ranked 25th nationally by 247Sports and ESPN.com and 26th by Rivals.
Hodges came to the Boilermakers after serving as Ohio State’s assistant director of player personnel since December of 2016. He joined the Buckeyes’ recruiting staff as an analyst in 2015 after previously serving as a strength & conditioning coach from 2012 to 2013.
Hodges spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Kent State, where he worked with the linebackers. He began his career in collegiate athletics as an Olympic sports strength & conditioning coach at Notre Dame in 2012 and subsequently was linebackers coach at Valparaiso (2012) and Saint Joseph’s (2015).
Hodges, who served four years in the U.S. Navy out of high school, earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Illinois State in 2012 and a master’s degree in sports management from Kent State in 2015. Hodges competed in football and track & field at the College of DuPage, where he was a member of the NJCAA national champion 4x100-meter relay team.
Hodges has a daughter, Eryn.
