Wally Becker joined the Purdue Athletics staff in 2012 and was promoted to associate director of strength and conditioning in 2017. He coordinates the strength and conditioning programs for the soccer and track & field programs.
Prior to coming to Purdue, Becker served in various strength and conditioning roles at the University of Evansville, Ball State University, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Wisconsin.
He received a bachelor’s degree in health promotion and wellness with a minor in strength and conditioning from Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a master’s degree in exercise science from Ball State.
Becker is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), a Level 1 certified sports performance coach by USA Weightlifting (USAW), a registered USATF Level 1 Coach by USA Track & Field, a Level 2 reflexive performance reset practitioner, and is certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED through the American Heart Association.
Becker and his wife, Megan, have two children, Max and Kali.
