WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Recognized for a fifth consecutive season, Purdue Baseball’s 3.17 team grade-point average for the 2025-26 school year earned the Boilermakers another ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.
The American Baseball Coaches Association partnered with sponsor Sports Attack to recognize teams across the country with 3.0-plus GPAs. All college and high school teams are eligible assuming their head coach is an ABCA member.
Coach Greg Goff’s team posted a number of notable academic achievements during the 2025-26 school year, headlined by a 3.22 cumulative team GPA at the close of the 2026 spring semester. The cumulative mark was as high as 3.29 – a program record – at the end of the 2025 fall semester.
Of the 37 players on the roster during the 2025-26 school year, 25 had 3.0-plus cumulative GPAs at end of the spring semester, including eight with a 3.5-plus cumulative GPA. During the fall semester, 14 players achieved 3.5-plus GPAs and 28 had GPAs of 3.0 or better. During the in-season spring semester, 11 players had 3.5-plus marks and 22 achieved at least 3.0s.
Headlined by Big Ten Distinguished Scholars (3.7-plus GPAs for 2025-26) Gavin Beuter and Aaron Manias, the Boilermakers had 20 Academic All-Big Ten student-athletes (3.0-plus cumulative GPA at Purdue) this season. The program produced at least 20 academic All-Big Ten performers for the third time this decade and at least 18 honorees for the fifth straight year.
Eli Anderson, Sam Flores and Jake Kramer joined Beuter and Manias as Academic All-District honorees (3.5-plus cumulative GPA at Purdue). Manias completed his bachelor’s degree with a 4.0 GPA at Purdue and became the program’s third multi-year Academic All-America honoree.
Team Brenneman and Team Serrato split the program’s Academic Bowl challenge for the 2025-26 school year. Team Brenneman won the fall semester with a 3.55 GPA and a roster of Sergio DeCello, Dylan Drake, Zach Erdman, Jackson Greer, Trey Swiderski, Anderson and Manias. Team Serrato won the spring semester with a 3.20 GPA and a roster of Jacob Boland, Tro Fellings, Lucas Grant, Thomas Lynch, Avery Moore, Zach Zychowski, Flores and Kramer.
The program’s Class of 2026 featured 16 players that were awarded their degrees at the annual Alexander Field commencement ceremony in May.
