• The No. 2-ranked Purdue Boilermakers begin an important two-game homestand on Saturday night when Indiana visits to complete the season series between the two teams. The Boilermakers enter on a seven-game win streak and atop the Big Ten standings while Indiana is coming off a 19-point comeback victory at Ohio State on Tuesday.
• Purdue became the first team nationally to reach 20 victories with its 105-96 win over Northwestern on Jan. 31, and despite not playing this week, will still enter Saturday's schedule of games tied for the national lead with 21 victories (UConn, Indiana State, Grand Canyon, James Madison). A year ago, Purdue was the first major-conference team to reach 20 wins (third overall behind Florida Atlantic and College of Charleston). Purdue's two losses are tied for the fewest in the country with UConn and Grand Canyon.
• Following its loss to Nebraska on Jan. 9, Purdue has averaged 87.6 points per game in its seven straight wins, while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 41.8 percent from 3-point range. Purdue's offensive efficiency in that span is 130.8 (130.8 points / 100 possessions). During that span, Zach Edey is averaging 26.1 points and 14.6 rebounds, while Lance Jones (17.4), Fletcher Loyer (11.9) and Braden Smith (11.4 PPG, 8.6 APG) are all averaging in double-figures. Jones and Loyer are a combined 35-of-76 (.461) from long range in that span.
