Purdue fell to Sacramento State, 0-6, in the final game of the Louisville Slugger Invitational

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Purdue fell to Sacramento State, 0-6, in the final game of the Louisville Slugger Invitational. With the result, Purdue falls to 11-8 on the season while the Bison improve to 12-8.

The Boilermakers were out-hit, 6-9, but left seven runners on-base in the outing. Recording hits were Kiersen George, Tyrina Jones, Olivia McFadden, Jordyn Ramos and Kiara Dillon. Ramos led the team with two hits.

Despite a promising start by the Boilermakers which saw the bases loaded with a pair of outs in the first inning, Sacramento State's keen defense kept Purdue off the board.

Mo Wimpee received the loss, moving to 3-2 on the year after allowing four runs on seven hits. The Ojai, California native struck out three batters.

Purdue will be back in action for six games in the coming week, beginning Wednesday with a doubleheader at Mississippi State. The Boilermakers added a game with North Dakota State before taking on the Bulldogs, moving game times  to 3 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. ET.
