Eight Boilermaker medalists from a year ago return to the Big Ten Championships, including now-senior Tamar Greene and junior Justin Becker, who won titles in the triple jump and 4x100 relay, respectively. Senior Alexis Zatta, junior Camille Christopher and sophomores Naomi Campbell, Saran Kouyeth, K'Ja Talley and Cierra Williams also won medals at last season's outdoor championship and look to repeat the feat in 2022.

Additionally, sophomore Safin Wills (silver triple jump, bronze long jump), senior Antonio Mitchell II (bronze 200m) and freshmen Praise Aniamaka (bronze triple jump) and Shianne Dacosta (bronze 400m) won medals indoors earlier this season and will vie to add to their total this weekend.

PURDUE'S BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS HISTORY
The Purdue women have won three Big Ten outdoor championships, in 1987, 1999 and 2017, and the men have three runner-up finishes, most recently in 2003. The women's squad has placed in the top-four in four of the last seven seasons. The men's squad has earned back-to-back top-six finishes for the first time since 2007-09 after they finished 10th or lower the previous two years and eighth or lower in seven of nine championships from 2010-2018.

At the 2021 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, the Boilermaker men were sixth with 67 points and the women were 10th with 41.5 points. The men came just six points shy of a top-four finish, as seven points separated fourth through seventh place. Purdue won six medals, two golds, two silvers and two bronzes, and the team totaled 25 top-eight podium finishes and had 14 top-10 marks in school history, including two school records. Greene (triple jump) and the men's 4x100 relay team won titles, Samson Colebrooke (100m) and the women's 4x400 relay earned runner-up finishes and Zatta (high jump) and the women's 4x100 relay squad claimed bronze medals.
