WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue baseball continues its season-long homestand with its fifth game of the season vs. an in-state rival, hosting Valparaiso for another $3 midweek matchup at Alexander Field.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET as the Boilermakers' penultimate midweek game on the schedule.

Before hosting Michigan for the third time since 2017 and sixth time since 2011, Purdue will look to get back on track against a Beacons team that has series wins vs. common opponents UIC and Illinois State. But like the Boilermakers, Valpo also went 0-4 last week with a Tuesday loss on the road followed by a home sweep.

Purdue's 17 runners left on base in Sunday's loss to Belmont matched the program's most over the last 20 years. The six runs scored were the fewest in a game that featured a season-high total of runners left on base since a 5-3 win at Georgia State in February 2016. Starting with that game, the Boilermakers had managed to win six of their last seven games that featured a season-high LOB number.
