The Boilermakers, which set the program-record with a .972 fielding % last season, returns two All-Big Ten selections in First Team All-Big Ten senior Rachel Becker and All-Freshman Team sophomore, Kaitlyn Brannstrom. Meanwhile Becker set the Purdue batting average (.479, which also was the fifth-best ever by a Big Ten player in league play), while tying for the doubles record (18, joining Katie Crabtree in 2001), second in on-base % (.539). Meanwhile, the senior is second all-time in Purdue history with a .381 career batting average.

Wearing the Old Gold and Black for the first time will be freshmen #00 Ryen Ross, #3 Tyrina Jones, #8 Kyndall Bailey, #20 Kendall Klochack and #27 Olivia McFadden, in addition to two transfer pitchers in #11 Alexa Pinarski, a junior, and #28 Gabby Sprang, a graduate student.

The Boilermakers return to Coastal Carolina for the first time since 2014, where they own a 1-3 record vs. Coastal Carolina. Meanwhile, it will be the first time Purdue and East Carolina will meet and just the second time the Boilermakers will face Hoyas (1-0) in the program's annals.
