IOWA CITY, Iowa – The season's first multi-day meet is on deck as the Purdue track & field team competes at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, on Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The season's first multi-day meet is on deck as the Purdue track & field team competes at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, on Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22.
 
The Boilermakers' first event on Friday is the men's and women's high jump at 4 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. CT, with the day's final event, the men's shot put, set for 8:15 p.m. ET / 7:15 p.m. CT. On Saturday, Purdue's opening events are the men's and women's triple jump and women's pole vault at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT, and the meet concludes with two sections of both the men's and women's 4x400 relay beginning at 5:15 p.m. ET / 4:15 p.m. CT.

Along with Purdue and host-Iowa, competition will feature Big Ten foe Wisconsin along with Baylor, Gonzaga and Northern Iowa at the University of Iowa Recreation Building.
 
LAST TIME OUT: WISCONSIN MIDWEST INVITATIONAL
Three Boilermakers won events and another two earned top-10 marks in program history on January 15 at the Wisconsin Midwest Invitational in Chicago. Competing against five other Big Ten teams, Jessica Bray (pole vault), Curt Eckstein (3,000) and LJ Hill (long jump) all earned victories, and a pair of sprinters, Antonio Mitchell II and Kerris Roberts, posted top-10 times in the Purdue record books in the 60-meter dash.

A LOOK BACK AT PURDUE'S LAST TRIP TO IOWA CITY
A year ago at the Hawkeye Big Ten Invitational in Iowa City, Purdue led all teams with nine wins and recorded four marks that rank in the top-10 in school history. Roberts (No. 7, 60m), Johnny Vanos (No. 6, weight throw), Bailey McIntire (No. 8, 5,000m) and K'Ja Talley (No. 10, 60m hurdles) all etched their names in the Purdue record books. Additionally, victories were recorded by current Boilermakers Eckstein (5,000m), Roberts (200m), Tamar Greene (triple jump), Ian Hunter (open mile), Payne Turney (open mile) and the men's 4x400 relay team.

NEXT UP: BOILERMAKERS HEADED TO UK, IU
Next weekend, Purdue travels to Lexington, Kentucky, for the Rod McCravy Memorial and Bloomington, Indiana, for the Indiana Relays. Both meets will be held from January 28-29.
 
THINKING SPRING
The Boilermakers' outdoor track & field schedule has been unveiled, which features meets in 10 states. The campaign begins on March 18, and culminates with the NCAA Championships and World Championships in June and July, respectively, both in Eugene, Oregon.
