Purdue Top-10 Results & Notables
INDIANAPOLIS – Event victories by Purdue swimmers Natalie Mudd and Nick McDowell highlighted the four-day Indiana Senior Long Course State Championships at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.
Mudd won the 100-meter backstroke Saturday with a U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifying time of 1:02.59. McDowell was victorious in the 200-meter freestyle (1:52.10 in prelims) Sunday. Both rising seniors were victorious at Senior State for the second year in a row, but they each won a different event this summer. Mudd won the 200 back and McDowell the 400 free a year ago.
Competing for Boilermaker Aquatics, active Purdue swimmers accounted for 45 top-10 finishes at Senior State this year. Boilermaker Aquatics finished fourth in the team scoring.

SENIOR STATE NOTABLES
• Along with sweeping the silvers in the individual medley races, Natalie Myers joined Maizie Seidl as Boilermakers to be part of all three freestyle relays.
• Nick Sherman finished among the top six in four individual events (50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 100 breast). He was Boilermaker Aquatics' top individual scorer.
• Ryan Hrosik (50 free, 100 fly), Riley Kishman (100 and 200 breast), Nathan Barsanti (100 and 200 fly), Katie Hughes (800 and 1,500 free), Natalie Mudd (100 and 200 back), Nick Sherman (100 free, 100 back) and Natalie Myers (200 and 400 IM) all finished among the top five in a pair of individual events.
• The Boilermakers won four silvers in the relays. The men accomplished the feat in the 200 free and 200 medley and the women did likewise in the 400s. Swimmers to be part of both quartets included: Gabi Gomez Treig, Trent Pellini, Ryan Hrosik; Megan Johnson, Riley Kishman, Natalie Mudd.
• Riley Kishman posted an Olympic Trials cut (1:10.48) in the 100-meter breaststroke at the Dan Ross 60th Birthday Invite on June 29 at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center.

• Nine Boilermakers are scheduled to race at USA Swimming's Phillips 66 National Championships. The annual summer showcase is set for July 31 to Aug. 4 at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center, an outdoor pool. The Purdue student-athletes scheduled to race includes Megan Johnson, Riley Kishman, Natalie Myers, Maizie Seidl, Ryan Hrosik, Ryan Lawrence, Nick McDowell and Trent Pellini. Alumna Kaersten Meitz is also scheduled to compete for the first time since winning a pair of gold medals for the U.S. at the World University Games in Italy earlier this month.
