DES MOINES, Iowa – After registering four victories heading into the final day of the Drake Relays, the Purdue track & field team concluded the meet by defending the women's 4x100-meter relay title.

On the final day on the Blue Oval, the Boilermakers secured top-3 finishes in all but the women's 4x400-meter relay and sprint medley relays, which the Boilermakers still produced top 5 finishes. Additionally, Alexis Zatta added a third-place finish in the high jump to round out Saturday's top performances on the field.

Saturday's events were led by the women's 4x100-meter relay victory. The team of Autumn Heath, Myia Dorsey, Sekayi Bracey and Camille Christopher combined for a time of 46.86 seconds to mark the second straight year the Boilermakers event victory. The back-to-back wins register as the first time for a 4x100 program to do so since Alabama's 2004 and '05 wins.

Individually, Christopher ran her way to a second-place finish in the women's 100-meter dash as well. The freshman, who recorded an 11.61 second sprint in Friday's qualifiers, was clocked at 11.78 seconds in the finals.

Joining Christopher with second-place finishes were the men's and women's 4x200-meter relay teams. The women's squad of Amaya Chadwick, Bracey, Kyelah Hodges and Vivette Greene crossed the finish line in 1:40.54. Meanwhile, the men's team of Justin Becker, Malcolm Dotson, Shawndail McLaren and Waseem Williams were timed at 1:23.96. After passing two runners in the final stretch, Williams was locked in a neck-and-neck battle with Kentucky at the finish to help the men eclipse their winning relay time from a year ago by just over half a second.

Christopher Bluish rounded out the individual track performances, where he secured a runner-up finish in the 800-meter run. The senior set a personal-best with a time of 1:51.78 after being edged out at the finish line by five-tenths of a second.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team earned its second straight year with a top 2 finish. Purdue's team of Justin Becker, Malcolm Dotson, Samson Colebrooke and Waseem Williams ran a 40.36 time, just over one-tenth of a second short of first-place.

As a whole, Purdue produced five victories over its three days at the Drake Relays. The women notched wins in the 800m unseeded run (Brittney Campbell, 2:07.94), 5,000-meter run (Megan Slamkowski, 16:59.53) and 4x100 relay (46.86). Meanwhile, the men won the javelin (Michael Weller, 68.04-meters) and triple jump (Jah Strange, 16.19-meters).
