WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue track & field teams began the 2019 slate at Lambert Fieldhouse with the Gene Edmonds Invite, where they won 11 events and earned 43 top-five finishes.

Individual first place-finishes on the women's side were recorded by Emma Benner (one mile), Brittney Campbell (800-meter run), Amaya Chadwick (60-meter hurdles), Vivette Green (200-meter dash), Kyelah Hodges (400-meter dash), Samara Miller (600-meter run) and Janae' Moffitt (high jump).

For the second consecutive time, freshman Chadwick's name will go down in the Boilermakers 60-meter hurdles top-10 list, this time for her 8.50 dash across the finish line. The time marks a personal-best for Chadwick by .09 seconds, as well as the eighth-fastest time in Purdue history.

Green, a sophomore, notched a time of 24.50 in the women's 200-meter dash. The speed was just .01 seconds away from cracking Purdue's top-10 bests in the event.

On the men's side, Samson Colebrooke (200-meter), Jordan Hollis (400-meter), Isaiah Martin (60-meter hurdles) and Waseem Williams (60-meter hurdles) each took first-place. Williams' time of 6.79 was just .01 seconds shy of becoming the 10th-fastest Boilermaker ever in the event.

The Boilermakers also secured the women's 4x400-meter relay by nine seconds to conclude the meet. In a dramatic finish, the men's side took second to Western Kentucky in a photo-finish, falling just .03 seconds shy of the Hilltoppers.

The Boilermakers will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Iowa City, Iowa, for the Larry Wieczorek Invite on Jan. 18 and 19. Purdue will host its final meet of the season Feb. 1 and 2 with the Fred Wilt Open at Lambert Fieldhouse.
