ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 14 Purdue volleyball team could not put together a consistent match as No. 16 Michigan came away with a 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 14-25) Big Ten victory on Friday night.

The Wolverines (14-2, 3-2 Big Ten) hit .435 and posted six blocks to hand the Boilermakers (13-3, 2-3 Big Ten) the loss.

Paige Jones and Kiara Shannon led a trio of Michigan players into double figures with 11 kills each, while Mackenzi Welsh handed out 39 assists. Jenna Large guided the home squad's defense with 16 digs.

Meanwhile, Purdue was held to a .106 hitting percentage on 94 attacks. Redshirt freshman Hayley Bush dished out 26 helpers, while redshirt junior Blake Mohler led the Boilermakes with 11 kills. Freshman Grace Cleveland followed with eight putaways.

Defensively, redshirt senior Sherridan Atkinson collected a team-best seven digs, while Mohler and Cleveland each registered a pair of assisted blocks.

Purdue closes the weekend with Saturday night contest at Michigan State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
