Track & Field Announces Student Section Callout

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue Track & Field program is forming an official student section for its most passionate fans. The `Boiler Pit Crew' will have a call out on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. inside Lambert Fieldhouse.

Purdue students will have the opportunity to meet some of their favorite Boilermakers including defending Big Ten Champions Dani Bunch and Leah Eber as well as several other standouts including All-Americans Geoff Davis and Jakob Engel. Free pizza and drinks will be provided.

All Purdue students are eligible to sign up for the Boiler Pit Crew regardless as to whether or not they have a VIP card. The new student section will be a part of the Boilermaker Sports Alliance (BSA) which is also in its inaugural year. Membership dues of $5 per person will be collected at the callout on Wednesday. Costs include membership into the organization as well as a Boiler Pit Crew t-shirt.

More information about the new group will be available at the callout on Wednesday. The Boilermakers have competed in one home meet already this indoor season and have another one this weekend. The Gene Edmonds Cup is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Lambert Fieldhouse on Saturday.
