WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The eighth-ranked Purdue women's golf team is tied for seventh at the Windy City Collegiate Classic with a score of 600 after two rounds. Junior Laura Gonzalez-Escallon led the Boilermakers and is tied for fourth after firing an even-par 144 on Monday.

Oklahoma State has two golfers tied for second and is in first place as a team with a two-round total of 589. Arizona is in second place with a team score of 595 and Ohio State is in third at 596.

Tulsa's Kristina Merkle holds the individual lead after firing a 71 in each of the first two rounds for a total of 142.

The Boilermakers totaled 304 in the first round but improved to a score of 296 in round two.

Gonzalez-Escallon opened with a two-under par 70 in the morning round at the Glen View Club in Golf, Ill., which is set up as a 6,333-yard, par-72 course for the tournament. The junior from La Hulpe, Belgium, carded a 74 in the second round for her total of 144.

Junior Paula Reto bounced back from her opening round 78 with a one-under par 71 on Monday afternoon. She is in a tie for 20th with a score of 149. Junior Kishi Sinha proved consistent, recording a 75 in both rounds of the Windy City and is tied for 24th, one stroke behind Reto with a 150.

The average score for the first two rounds was 76.7. Purdue is tied with TCU for seventh place with one round to play.

Freshman Aurora Kan is tied for 59th with a total of 157 after recording an 81 followed by a 76. Jam Vilairatana tallied an 84 and then a 78 and is tied for 72nd with a score of 162.
