WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The sixth-ranked Purdue women's golf team was put to the test at the 2011 Mason Rudolph Fall Preview, facing 17 teams ranked in the top 25, including the nation's top-13 spot holders. The Boilermakers finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 315 for a three-round total of 930 (313-302-315).

Junior Paula Reto was Purdue's top-finisher, tying for 22nd with a three-round total of 222. The Cape Town, South Africa, native fired a 76 on Sunday after carding a three-under 69 in the second round. Reto opened with a 77 on Friday.

Laura Gonzalez-Escallon turned in the Boilermakers' low round on Sunday, recording a one-over par 73 for the second-straight day. The junior opened with an 80 and finished tied for 39th with a three-day total of 226.

Freshman Aurora Kan finished in 84th place with a score of 241 (77-80-84), redshirt junior Kishi Sinha was 85th with a 242 (79-80-83) and Jam Vilairatana was 89th, totaling 246 (82-81-83).

Top-ranked UCLA won the team title for the third time in five years, recording a 294 in the final round for a total score of 873 (296-283-294). No. 3 Alabama also shot a 294 on Sunday, but finished second with an 879 (296-289-294). Arizona State (293-296-295) and Virginia (304-286-294) tied for third with a team total of 884. Purdue was 18th and full results are above.

The individual title required a playoff. Duke's Lindy Duncan took home medalist honors after defeating Alabama's Jennifer Kirby on hole No. 18, the first playoff hole.

The three-day tournament was held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course in Franklin, Tenn., the site of the 2012 NCAA Championships on May 22 to 25. The North Course was set up as a par-72, 6,426-yard layout for the Mason Rudolph.

Purdue has two fall tournaments remaining, the Windy City Collegiate Championships on Oct. 3 and 4 and the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C., on Oct. 28 to 30.
