COLUMBUS, Ohio - No. 4 Purdue (15-2-2, 7-1-1 Big Ten) defeated Ohio State (11-7-0, 5-4-0 Big Ten) 3-1 Sunday at Jesse Ownens Memorial Stadium.
Purdue's 15th win of the season set a program record as it snapped the Buckeye's 11-match home-winning streak, dating back to last season.
Ohio State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute after Keiana Mitchell headed in a Alex Burzynski corner kick from inside the six-yard box.
The Buckeyes' would only record three more shots as the Boilermakers scored three unanswered goals.
Purdue received its equalizer from Sylvia Forbes in the 40th minute off an assist from Parrissa Eyorokon. The goal was initiated by Jordyn Shaffer who headed back an OSU corner from outside the six, and the ball rolled right to Eyorokon.
The West Chester, Ohio, native raced the ball up the near sideline before slotting it to Forbes from inside the 18-yard box. Forbes brushed off one defender before sending it past Lauren Robertson at the near post.
Eyorokon's 10th goal of the season served as the eventual game-winner in the 61st minute.
Eyorokon looked to be tripped up by two Buckeye defenders when she pushed a slow roller from the top of the 18. The ball eluded Robertson as she made a late dive toward the far post.
With 10 goals, Eyorokon tied Jessica Okoroafo (2005) and Lauren Sesselman (2003) for most goals in a season.
Purdue clinched the match in the 83rd minute when a shot taken by Felicia Schroeder deflected off a OSU defender's shin inside the goal mouth.
The Boilermakers' win kept them two points behind Penn State, 24-22, in the Big Ten Standings heading into Friday's home finale with Indiana.
Penn State beat Indiana Sunday in Happy Valley 2-1.
The Hoosiers and Boilermakers kick off Friday in West Lafayette at 4 p.m. The match will be broadcast over the world wide web at purduesports.com.
