Bree Bennett
Bree Bennett is in her third season with the Purdue track & field and cross country program in 2023-24 and has served as the supervisor of operations since her arrival in West Lafayette prior to the 2021-22 season.
 
With the Boilermakers, Bennett schedules and coordinates team travel, serves as a liaison with the athletics compliance office and oversees the student managers. Bennett also assists the support staff, including academics, equipment, sports medicine, nutrition and communications.
  
Bennett comes to Purdue from Mississippi State, where she served as the track & field program’s director of operations since 2019. While overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program, Bennett worked in conjunction with the compliance, equipment and facilities staff. She managed the team’s travel and budget and was responsible for coordinating on-campus recruiting visits.
 
Additionally, Bennett hired and supervised student managers and volunteer coaches and was an integral part in hosting home meets.
 
From 2018-19, Bennett was a coordinator of learning services at Minnesota. Working with a variety of sports, she monitored academic coursework and grades and developed and implemented programs for student-athletes with learning challenges. Bennett also collaborated with academic counselors to develop academic success plans for student-athletes.
 
Bennett was the hurdles and relays coach and academic advisor at Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta from 2015-18. Her role included educating student-athletes on NCAA eligibility guidelines and monitoring the academic progress for varsity and junior varsity sports. As a coach, she planned and executed workouts and analyzed and evaluated film of training and competition with athletes.
 
At the University of Georgia, Bennett was a volunteer assistant coach from 2014-15. She assisted with the program’s daily operations, coordinating with equipment staff, assisting in hosting home meets and organizing the team’s annual awards banquet. Bennett also assisted the head coach with the budget and worked to promote the team’s camps and community events.
 
Bennett earned her associate’s degree in liberal arts from Bevill State College in 2009 and her bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in 2011. She received a master’s in coaching and sport administration from Angelo State in 2013.
