Season Tickets Media Day Notes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Head coach Katie Gearlds and guards Kyndall Hunter and Hannah Wickstrom will head to Rosemont, Ill., on Wednesday for the 2026 Big Ten Women’s Basketball Media Day.

Hosted at the Donald Stephens Convention Center for the third straight year, the Boilermaker trio will spend the day engaging with conference partners and members of the local and national media, as well as a segment live on Big Ten Network from 2:00-2:15 p.m. ET.

Head coach Katie Gearlds enters her sixth year at the helm of her alma mater with a new-look roster that features 10 newcomers from eight nations all over the world.

Wickstrom, a 5-10 guard from Melbourne, Australia, joined the Boilermakers from UC Riverside, where she finished fifth in the nation in scoring with 23.4 points per game as a sophomore. She was one of four players to post a 34% usage rate, a true shooting clip of 55% and a turnover rate under 15% in 2025-26.

Wickstrom was the only player in the nation to average better than 20 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game, which helped her earn Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Semifinalist honors and a spot on the First Team All-Big West.

Hunter enters her sixth year after spending time at Texas, Texas A&M and Houston. Last season with the Cougars, the Cypress Creek native averaged 9.2 points per game as their second leading scorer. During her lone active season at Texas A&M, Hunter posted 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.7 steals in 16.4 minutes per game.

The Boilermakers will play their lone exhibition on Oct. 24 against Illinois-Chicago, before opening the year with four straight home games, starting against IU Indy on Nov. 2.
