Purdue Faces Nebraska in Big Ten Regular-Season Finale

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The No. 18 Purdue Boilermakers (14-2-2, 8-2-1 Big Ten) will play their final match of the regular-season against the Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-4-10, 1-3-7 Big Ten) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at Folk Field.

The Boilermakers are coming off two rivalry wins on last week’s road trip at Indiana and Northwestern. Jaiden Anderson was honored as Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts, scoring three goals on the week en route to breaking the Purdue single-season goals record (17).

Purdue is in the Intercollegiate Women’s Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) national rankings for the third-straight week, receiving their highest ranking of the season at No. 18. The Boilermakers also checked in at No. 10 in the TopDrawer Soccer poll. This is Purdue's highest ranking since the 2021 season.

A win on Friday would set a program record with nine regular season conference wins on the year. The previous record was set in the 2007 season and tied in the 2021 season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Nebraska holds a 1-3-7 record in conference play this season. They are coming off a 1-2 loss to No. 10 UCLA and five consecutive scoreless draws prior to that game. The Cornhuskers’ last win came against No. 20 Michigan in a 1-0 win at Ann Arbor. Nebraska is tied for third in the Big Ten for goals allowed, with just eight goals allowed in their 11 conference games this season, trailing only No. 3 Ohio State and No. 14 UCLA with five goals allowed each.

SERIES HISTORY
The Boilermakers have faced Nebraska 16 times in their history with a 5-10-1 overall record including a 3-3-1 record in West Lafayette. Purdue is searching for their first win in the series since 2021 when the Boilermakers won 3-1 in Lincoln. Friday will mark the second time that Purdue has entered the match ranked. The first matchup with a ranked Purdue came in the first ever meeting between the two teams, when No. 24 Purdue lost 4-1 against a No. 3 ranked Nebraska in 2000.
