SWEEP CITY

  • The Boilers' six straight sweeps (18-0 sets in won) ties as the second-longest streak in program history (longest: seven straight sweeps in 2014 and 1982.
  • The sweep streak also is the longest active streak in the Big Ten, after Purdue downed the Power 4 leader, Maryland on Wednesday. The Terps led the way, entering West Lafayette with 27 consecutive set wins.

HIGHLIGHTS VS MARYLAND

  • The Boilers held the Terps to just 9 points in the third set, tying as the fewest points allowed in a set this season, and the fewest in a Big Ten match since 2024 (9 allowed vs. Indiana).
  • It was the sixth time this season the squad has held their opponent to 13 points or less in a set (to 25 points - 5th sets not included).
  • Purdue went a perfect 100% sideout in Set 3.

PASSING AT AN ELITE LEVEL

  • Ryan McAleer led the nation's liberos with passing grade of 2.50 (on a 3-point scale via Volleymetrics) with over a 71% passing % for non-con action. 2025 National Libero of the Year ranked #3 (Rachel Van Gorp, Iowa State). McAleer was joined in the top-10 by Nebraska's Olivia Mauch, who ranked #6 (2.41).
  • For Week 4, McAleer and MaryKate Scheumann were ranked among the top-10 receivers in the nation, with McAleer ranked #5 with a 2.68 pass grade and Scheumann #9 at 2.52. It's the second straight week McAleer has ranked as highly (checked at #4 in Week 3 w/ 2.52).

BACK IN MACKEY

  • Purdue opened its home slate in Mackey Arena, going 2-0 over the two-day Allstate Big Ten/SEC Challenge. Over the two matches, 17,030 fans were at the matches to watch the Boilermakers beat #12 Texas A&M (3-0) and the five-set thriller vs. Georgia. Despite the heat, the attendance vs. #12 Texas A&M was 10,229.
  • All-time record in Mackey: 18-6

A LOOK-IN VS. TOP-10 BIG TEN TAKEDOWNS

  • Over the last 12 seasons, Purdue's picked up 27 wins vs. top-10 opponents- 15 of which have come against Big Ten teams. Of those Big Ten teams, Purdue's toppled Wisconsin and Minnesota more than any other program (four wins each).
