WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue erupted for five first-half goals, including four penalty-kick conversions, to cruise past Ball State, 5–0, Thursday night at Folk Field. The Boilers continued their record-breaking streak of scoring five or more goals in four-consecutive matches for the first time in program history.
Purdue outshot the Cardinals 29-4 and limited Ball State to just one shot on goal.
Purdue wasted little time getting on the board. After a Ball State foul in the box, Jaiden Anderson converted a penalty kick in the sixth minute to give the Boilers an early 1–0 advantage. Just under three minutes later, Rosa Maalouf doubled the lead, finding the back of the net off a header from Irene Campo.
Campo then took over from the penalty spot. The senior converted her first penalty kick in the 14th minute before adding another in the 23rd minute, giving Purdue a 4–0 lead.
Maalouf capped the first-half scoring in the 26th minute, converting Purdue's fourth penalty kick of the opening 45 minutes to complete her brace and send the Boilermakers into halftime with a 5–0 advantage.
The Boilermakers put 11 shots on target overall, forcing six saves from Cardinals goalkeeper Kate Pallante.
Campo finished the night with two goals and an assist, while Maalouf added two goals. Anderson contributed a goal from the penalty spot, and Krystina Wolf made one save to earn her fourth win of the season and fourth shutout.
