WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A pair of multi-day co-ed dual meets at home plus the return of the men’s Big Ten Championships and the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships to the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center headline Purdue Swimming & Diving’s 2026-27 schedules.
The Boilermakers have six home meets (five co-ed) on the schedules. Purdue hosts both Indiana and the two-day Big Ten Triple Duals (vs. Minnesota and Northwestern) over consecutive weekends in January for the first time since 2017. With the Boilers also hosting both men’s Big Tens and the co-ed Diving Zones, the Purdue men’s only meet away from West Lafayette during the spring semester will be the NCAA Championships.
The Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center opened in August 2001 and is set to host Big Tens and Zones in the same year for the fourth time. The men’s Big Ten Championships were also contested at the Burke Aquatic Center in 2004, 2009, 2016 and 2022. Diving Zones were also held in West Lafayette in 2005, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019. The previous double-duty years were 2005, 2010 and 2016 in part to the women’s Big Ten and NCAA Championships also being held at the Burke Aquatic Center in 2005 and 2010.
The three-day NCAA Zone C Diving Championships serves as diving’s NCAA Championships qualifier for student-athletes that compete at universities based in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
The home opener is once again the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate – set for Saturday, Oct. 24 this year. Annually held on a Saturday in October, it features teams of all NCAA divisions from across the state as the largest home meet of this season. It was renamed in honor of Purdue’s longtime head coach in the summer of 2023, about a month after Ross retired and closed out a 42-year coaching career.
The Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center is slated to host both national championship meets – with consolation finals returning to the meet program following a one-year hiatus in 2026. Texas also hosted both the men’s and women’s championships in 2019. The NCAA Championships are also returning to Austin in March 2028 and it was announced this summer that the men’s meet will be contested first for the first time in 2028. The genders then will alternate “up first” with a rotation in the years to follow – women first in odd-numbered years, men first in even-numbered years.
Purdue is slated to compete in Columbus for its midseason showcase for the second year in a row, returning to the Ohio State Invitational. It’s a Tuesday evening to Friday format again this year while mirroring the event schedule at the Big Ten Championships. Last season’s field at the Ohio State Invitational also featured Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Penn State, Cincinnati, Yale, the UCLA women & host Buckeyes.
The Boilermakers have another two-day meet scheduled for Halloween Weekend, hosting Horizon League champion Oakland for co-ed dual meet action. Sessions are set for 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 11 a.m. on Halloween.
The annual two-day Big Ten Triple Duals also return to the Burke Aquatic Center for the final weekend of January. Purdue’s Senior Day ceremony will be held before Saturday’s 11 a.m. session of the meet. The Boilermakers also hosted the co-ed Big Ten Triple Duals at the Burke Aquatic Center in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2024.
More dual meets vs. Big Ten opponents includes an Oct. 23 women’s triple dual vs. Iowa and UCLA in Iowa City. The Boilermakers will get an opportunity to compete at the site of the women’s Big Ten Championships; Iowa’s Campus Recreation and Wellness Center will host for the first time since 2020. The Purdue men return to Wisconsin for a dual meet in December and the women open their season with an Oct. 2 dual at Illinois.
Selected men’s swimmers will open their season at the Seminole Fall Classic in Tallahassee for the second year in a row. The two-day meet is set for Oct. 9-10 this year.
