AURORA, Ill. – Playing in the Aurora, Illinois, qualifier, rising sophomore Will Harvey has secured his ticket to the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship.
Harvey finished tied for fourth to grab one of seven spots in qualifying at the Aurora Country Club in Aurora, Illinois. Harvey fired a 4-under par 68 to finish above the cut line to advance. A 3-for-2 playoff at 3-under par was needed to determine the sixth and seventh players to advance.
Harvey played solid golf all day, registering five birdies and 12 pars against just one bogey during his round. He led late in the round, but Oklahoma star P.J. Maybank birdied six of his last eight holes to grab medalist honors at 6-under par. Robert Dofflemyer and Matthew Wilson finished tied for second at 5-under par.
The 126th U.S. Amateur Championship will be played at Merion Golf Club and Philadelphia Country Club on August 10-16. Harvey is scheduled to be one of two Boilermakers in the event, as Sam Easterbrook has received exempt status into the event.
Harvey had an outstanding freshman season for the Boilermakers in 2025-26, finishing third on the squad with a freshman-record 72.34 stroke average. He recorded six top-20 showings, including a runner-up finish at the Purdue Fall Invitational and a top-15 placing in the NCAA Regionals in Corvallis, Oregon.
