WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women’s tennis team shutout Ball State, 7-0 on Friday afternoon for the team’s second shutout of the season. In the win, No. 117 Ece Gencer secured her seventh consecutive singles victory, remaining undefeated on the year.
Ashlie Wilson picked up her first victory of the season, posting a 7-6(5), 4-6, 10-8 win to shore-up the final point of the dual, posting an impressive come-from-behind victory in the third set to secure the win. Meanwhile, Fatima Gutierrez, who played at the No. 3 position, also came back in her match after dropping the first set to win it 4-6, 6-2, 10-2.
The Boilermakers will be back in action in one week, hosting Xavier on Friday, February 27 at 4 p.m. ET.
