WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.  The Purdue women’s basketball team will look to make it three wins in a row at home when it hosts No. 13 Michigan State on Thursday evening. The 6 p.m. tipoff will be televised on the Big Ten Network with Jack Kizer and Shimmy Miller on the call.

Tim Newton and Jane Schott will be on the call for the Purdue Global Radio Network on 95.3 BOB FM.

LAST TIME OUT
The Boilermakers brought the Barn Burner Trophy home for the first time since the 2016 season. Nya Smith paced Purdue with 13 points, while Madison Layden-Zay and Hila Karsh finished with 12 points. The Boilermakers overcame an early shooting slump to finish 62% from the field, including 10 3-pointers, over the final 30 minutes of the game.

GAME NOTES

• Purdue leads the all-time series with Michigan State 44-40 with a 23-12 mark at Mackey Arena. 
• The Boilermakers are 5-0 this season and 27-1 since the start of 2021-22 when recording 20 or more assists.
Tara Daye leads the Boilermakers in scoring and on the glass with 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. The redshirt junior is one of four guards from the Big Ten averaging better than 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season. Daye is one of nine guards in the Big Ten who have more than 100 points (108) and 50 rebounds (52) in conference play this season.
Madison Layden-Zay is the all-time 3-point leader in Purdue history with 247 triples. She broke Karissa McLaughlin's mark of 244 with four triples in Purdue's win over No. 23 Washington on Jan. 11 to finish with a team-high 19 points.
• Over her last three games, Layden-Zay has dished out 18 assists, tied for third most in the Big Ten in the last two weeks, which have led to 43 points.
Avery Gordon has averaged 10.7 points on 86.7% shooting over the last three games. She has made 10 straight field goals entering Thursday night's game. Gordon is averaging 21.2 points per 40 minutes to rank 15th in the Big Ten, first among league freshmen and 17 from rookies nationally.
Nya Smith's production continues to improve in conference action, picking up all four of her double-digit games in league play. The sophomore is averaging 11.8 points per game while shooting 50% from the floor and 40% from distance over her last five games. She is third on the team in scoring in Big Ten play with 9.8 points per night.
• Freshman Hila Karsh knocked down four 3-pointers in the win over Indiana. The Israeli international has made a triple in 14 games with six multi-3-pointer outings.
• Mackey Arena continues to be a fortress for the Boilermakers with a 10-2 mark this season, scoring 79.9 points per game and holding opponents to 62.6. Purdue is shooting 48.8% from the field, while holding teams to 37.3%.
• The Boilermakers have spread out the responsibility this season with seven different players leading a game in scoring, eight in rebounding, eight in assists, 11 in steals and 10 in blocks.

Madison Layden-Zay is three steals away from joining Caitlin Clark as the only players in Big Ten history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, 200 steals, 200 3-pointers and 50 blocks.
