WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Seven former Boilermakers were active in the NFL's penultimate week of the regular season. Three Pro Boilers took part in the NFL's Christmas Day schedule.
A pair of Pro Boilers, Marcus Mbow and Tyrone Tracy Jr., both started together for the second time this season in the Giants' 34-10 victory over the Raiders. Mbow helped pave the way for Tracy's game-high 62 rushing yards. Tracy has rushed for over 60 yards in three consecutive games.
Tracy is at 869 total yards of offense this season after he totaled 1,123 in his rookie season. Mbow has started twice in his rookie season and has appeared in 32.1-percent of the Giants offense snaps. He will look to build on his experience one final time this season in the final week against the Cowboys.
Derrick Barnes totaled five tackles on Christmas Day and tied a team high with his 81.0 run defense grade, according to PFF. It was the highest run defense grade Barnes earned this season.
With his 75 tackles this season, Barnes is six tackles shy of tying his career high set in 2023. He already owns career highs in sacks (four) and tackles-for-loss (six).
