Brandon Lee and Jake Trump Named to 247Sports 30Under30 List

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Two members of head coach Barry Odom’s staff have been named to 247Sports’ annual 30Under30 list heading into the 2025 season. Defensive ends coach Jake Trump and general manager Brandon Lee landed on the prestigious list that highlights the best sub-age-30 coaches and staffers in college football.

Purdue Football was one of just two programs to have multiple staff members on the 2025 30Under30 list, a testament to the staff that Odom has assembled heading into his first season as head coach of the Boilermakers.

Prior to reuniting at Purdue and embarking on their respective careers, Lee and Trump were teammates at Missouri (2015-18) under Odom’s guidance.

Trump joined Odom in West Lafayette after spending the past five seasons at Arkansas. Three of those years were when Odom was the Razorbacks’ defensive coordinator. While in Fayetteville, Trump helped mentor 12 All-SEC defenders.

Last year, Trump helped coach a Razorback defensive unit that allowed only 357.2 yards per game, the team's lowest since 2014. The 2023 Hogs also ranked fourth in the SEC in pass defense, surrendering just 202.8 yards per game through the air.

Trump played under Odom at Missouri (2015-18) before joining the staff after graduating to jump start his coaching career. His playing career was highlighted by appearing in all 13 games during the 2018 season.

While only in his first season as the Boilermakers’ general manager, Lee has been a rising star in college athletics for some time. The Indianapolis native arrived at Purdue after serving as associate athletic director for student-athlete brand strategy and innovation at Mississippi State. Prior to Mississippi State, Lee spent three years at Missouri as assistant athletics director for Name, Image & Likeness (NIL), establishing and leading the athletic department’s NIL program.

Lee served as the SEC's representative on the NCAA Board of Governors Federal and State Legislation NIL Working Group from 2019-20, while working on obtaining his master’s degree at Missouri.

As a starting linebacker for the Tigers under Odom, Lee played in 48 games over his collegiate career. Off the field, Lee served on the SEC Leadership Council and took part in the 2018 NCAA Convention.

Senior defensive analyst Ronnell Perkins was also featured in the “Analysts, Quality Control and GAs to Know” section of the 30Under30 list. Several mentioned in this section in the past have become future 30Under30 honorees.
