Colvin Drafted to Grand Rapids Rise

With the seventh overall pick of the Real Pro Volleyball Federation draft, the Grand Rapids Rise selected middle blocker Raven Colvin.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – With the seventh overall pick of the Pro Volleyball Federation draft, the Grand Rapids Rise selected middle blocker Raven Colvin.
 
One of Purdue's best blockers in program history, Colvin ranks second in Purdue history in career total blocks, block assists and blocks per set and No. 8 in block solos. She is also fourth in the nation among Division I active players in career blocks per set.

The Grand Rapids Rise, which includes Purdue alums Jena Otec (2017-21) and Sherridan Atkinson (2016-18), will begin its season January 10 and runs through May 2, 2025.
 
Currently, Colvin owns 962 career kills, a .309 career hitting clip (No. 9 in Purdue history), 618 total blocks (79-539), 1.39 blocks per set and 106 career service aces. She is also the Big Ten rally-scoring era record holder for most blocks in a match (16), which she set as a sophomore at Maryland (11/23/22).
 
This season, the senior out of Indianapolis, Indiana, is the Big Ten blocks leader and ranks fifth in the nation, averaging 1.57 blocks per set. At the top of her collegiate game, she is hitting and blocking more efficiently than ever before, having hit .400% or better in 15 matches, eight at .500% and three at a .700% efficiency or higher. Meanwhile, Colvin has registered 15 matches with at least six blocks and three 10-block performances, including 11 at No. 2 Nebraska.
  
Colvin will finish out her senior season with the Boilermakers. The team enters its final week of the regular season on the west coast, taking on No. 13 Oregon at 10:30 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network, followed by a 7:30 p.m. ET showdown at Washington on Big Ten Network. Purdue will find out its postseason fate on the NCAA Selection Show, set for Sunday night at 6 p.m. ET.
