Pro Boilers: Week 8

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Tyrone Tracy Jr. and the New York Giants took on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football to conclude Week 8 of the NFL season.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Tyrone Tracy Jr. and the New York Giants took on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football to conclude Week 8 of the NFL season. Seven former Boilermakers in total saw game action around the league.

In his eighth career game, Tracy continued to impress by racking up season highs in rushing yards (145) and attempts (20), matching his personal best game mark of 7.2 yards per carry. The highlight of his night came in the fourth quarter when he found an open hole in the line and burst through for 45 yards and his second NFL touchdown, leaving the Steelers' defense in the dust.

The apparent league-wide injury bug once again reared its ugly head when Tracy left in the fourth quarter with a concussion.

Aidan O'Connell was placed on Injured Reserve last week and did not play for the Las Vegas Raiders in their game against Kansas City. He will miss at least the next three games as well before being eligible to return.

One Boilermaker did see action in the Chiefs game, however, as George Karlaftis maintained his impact as the team's starting edge rusher. He posted his third sack of the season to force a punt in the third quarter.

Karlaftis also recorded a quarterback pressure on a critical 4th-and-Goal to help get a sack, preventing the Raiders from taking a second-half lead. He finished with four stops, one solo, two quarterback hits and one pass breakup.

Raheem Mostert found the end zone for the first and second times this season after leading the league in rushing touchdowns a year ago. He finished with 19 yards on nine carries in the Dolphins' loss to Arizona.

Sanoussi Kane tied for the Ravens' team lead with two special teams tackles at Cleveland. Charlie Jones returned two kicks for 42 yards versus Philadelphia, and Payne Durham registered 11 offensive snaps at tight end against the Falcons.

Overall, former Boilermakers are 32-25 in games they have played this season.
