Softball Prepares for 6-Game Week

Entering the week with a five-game winning streak, the Purdue softball squad (17-8, 5-4 Big Ten) prepares for a six-game week, which includes three midweek games between Indiana State (15-19, 4-7 MVC) and a doubleheader at Indiana (26-12, 3-6 Big Ten), before ending the week with a three-game series at Illinois (15-20, 2-6 B1G).

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Entering the week with a five-game winning streak, the Purdue softball squad (17-8, 5-4 Big Ten) prepares for a six-game week, which includes three midweek games between Indiana State (15-19, 4-7 MVC) and a doubleheader at Indiana (26-12, 3-6 Big Ten), before ending the week with a three-game series at Illinois (15-20, 2-6 B1G).

Due to weather, Purdue's games at Indiana were postponed last week and rescheduled on Sunday for this week, leading to the adjustment of the Purdue vs. Indiana State matchup from Wednesday to Tuesday in an effort to play each game.


TWO STRAIGHT SERIES WINS

  • Purdue is riding a 5-game winning streak with series wins vs. Rutgers and Iowa.
  • The team's series sweep vs. Iowa is the first for the Boilermakers in Big Ten play since 2018.
  • It is the first time since 1997 Purdue has won five consecutive Big Ten games.

  • Purdue is looking for its first win vs. Indiana since April 4, 2021 (W 5-4 in 9 innings).
  • The teams have met for doubleheaders for the last eight seasons.
  • Purdue last swept the series in 2014 with a pair of 4-1 wins in West Lafayette, part of a larger six consecutive wins in the rivalry (2012-2014).
