WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Coming off a pair of thrilling victories in Tampa, Florida last week, the Purdue softball team (5-2) is set to head to Conway, Arkansas for Week 3. 

Purdue will face four opponents over three days and five games. First, Purdue will take on South Dakota State and host Central Arkansas on Friday. Then, Purdue will take on South Dakota State and Southern Illinois on Saturday followed by a final matchup vs. Southern Illinois on Sunday. Fans can watch Friday afternoon's competition at Central Arkansas on ESPN+ at 4:30 p.m. ET.

In the Circle: Freshman Julia Gossett
  • Freshman Julia Gossett leads the team with a 3-0 record and earned a save in the victory at USF in Week 2.
  • She leads all Big Ten pitchers in ERA (0.44) and ranks second in walks allowed per seven innings (0.88) and shutouts (1) and fifth in victories (3). 

Purdue's Week 2 Look-Back: at USF
  • Purdue went 2-0 in Tampa, Florida, at the Fonseca Memorial Tournament at USF before the final three games were rained out.
  • The Boilermakers scored the game-winners in the final stretch, with four of the team's six runs, came in their final round at the plate.
  • Freshmen pitchers rose to the occasion with Julia Gossett tossing her first complete-game shutout as Purdue earned the 2-0 victory vs. UIC. Then Gossett came in as closer for Purdue at USF to face the final batter and a potential walk-off finish. She recorded the strikeout to seal Purdue's 4-3 win. Meanwhile, Jules Raymond received her first collegiate win on her birthday at USF.
  • Jade Moy produced the game-winning RBI single at USF in the seventh inning for the game-winner.
  • Five Boilermakers went .500 or better from the plate.
