Pro Boilers: Week 17

The NFL regular season is coming to a close and Boilermaker alumni are making an impact and pushing for the playoffs all across the league as 10 former Boiler football greats saw action in week 16. 

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –  The NFL regular season is coming to a close, and Purdue alumni are making an impact and pushing for the playoffs all across the league as 11 former Boiler Football greats saw action in Week 17. 
 
Markus Bailey – LB - Cincinnati Bengals
Game against the Bills was postponed following the injury to Damar Hamlin. 
 
Derrick Barnes – LB – Detroit Lions
Made two tackles in 42 snaps on defensive and special teams in the Lions' massive 41-10 win over Chicago to keep their playoff hopes alive. 
 
Ja'Whaun Bentley – LB - New England Patriots
Led the team in tackles once again, making nine with one behind the line of scrimmage to help the Patriots hold the explosive Dolphins offense in check and grab a win to keep them in the hunt for the wildcard.

David Bell – WR – Cleveland Browns
Was unable to make a catch, but added a tackle on special teams in a win against the Commanders. 
 
David Blough - QB - Arizona Cardinals
Made his first start in three years, going 22-for-40 for 222 yards and a touchdown as the Cardinals lost on a last second field goal.

Brycen Hopkins - TE - Los Angeles Rams
Got his first start of the season in the battle for Los Angeles and caught a 21-yard strike. 
 
Zander Horvath – FB - Los Angeles Chargers
Horvath was inactive due to an ankle injury as he hopes to get healthy with the Chargers already locked into a playoff spot. 
 
George Karlaftis – DE- Kansas City Chiefs
Grabbed his fifth sack in the last six games and added his first career fumble recovery in the Chiefs' win over the Broncos.

Dennis Kelly – OT – Indianapolis Colts
Played three snaps on special teams in the Colts loss to the Giants. 
 
DaMarcus Mitchell – DE - New England Patriots
Got in on 17 special teams snaps for the Patriots in their win over the Dolphins. 

Raheem Mostert – RB - Miami Dolphins
Rushed for 29 yards on nine carries, but made his biggest impact through the air. He caught eight passes for 62 yards and a touchdown. He also added 79 yards on kick returns for a total of 170 all-purpose.
