WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's basketball team will look to bounce back Sunday afternoon as it closes out the home non-conference slate with a 2 p.m. tip against Illinois State on B1G+.
Sunday marks Purdue's annual Holiday Bash at Mackey Arena. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos along with a fan zone for children of all ages. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears and other plush toys for the Teddy Bear Toss at halftime. All toys will be donated to Lafayette urban Ministries.

The Boilermakers dropped a heartbreaker to No. 20/21 Maryland on Thursday night, falling 77-74 on a last-second 3-pointer. Abbey Ellis paced Purdue with 18 points off the bench, while Lasha Petree tallied her 10th straight game in double figures with 14 points. The Boilermakers shot 55.3% from the field and led by as many as eight, but Maryland closed the game on a 8-1 run.
NOTES
• Illinois State leads the all-time series 4-5. The two clubs have met three times since 1991, and Purdue knocked off the Redbirds 76-64 last season on the road.
• Abbey Ellis continues to provide a spark off the bench this season with six double-figure games. The Australian international ranks 10th in the nation in scoring among players without a start this year with 12.4 points per game.
• The Boilermakers have dropped a pair of games this season by a combined total of four points.
• Cassidy Hardin knocked down a trio of 3-pointers against Maryland to move up to 176 for her career. She passed Ukari Figgs (174) for ninth in school history.
• In just her second season in West Lafayette, Jeanae Terry has already checked into the top 25 for most assists in a career by a Boilermaker. The Detroit native has 261 dimes in 42 games with Purdue, averaging 6.2 helpers per contest.
• Purdue sits atop the Big Ten and 40th nationally with 15 made free throws per night.
• After the game on Sunday, Purdue will play twice the rest of the calendar year, on the road at Texas A&M (Dec. 21) and Iowa (Dec. 29).
• The Boilermakers rank seventh in the nation and third in the Big Ten with a 50.6% field goal percentage this year.
• Lasha Petree has scored in double figures in every game this season. She ranks sixth in the Big Ten at 19.1 points per game.
