WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Zach Edey scored 21 points with seven rebounds and freshman Fletcher Loyer tallied 14 points and three assists to lead Purdue's offensive attack in its annual Fan Day scrimmage at Mackey Arena on Saturday.
Edey scored 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 7-of-7 from the free throw line, while adding seven rebounds, including five on the offensive end. He was one-of-six players to post 2-1 records in the three, 10-minute sessions. Matt Frost was the lone player to post a 3-0 record.
Fletcher Loyer scored 14 points with three assists, two rebounds and two steals against no turnovers. He was 5-of-10 from the field, including a pair of trifectas.
Trey Kaufman-Renn was the other Boilermaker in double-figures with 11 points, two rebounds and two assists. Caleb Furst and Brandon Newman each added nine points. Furst contributed seven rebounds, while Newman dished out six assists against no turnovers. Purdue had 29 assists against 20 turnovers as a unit. Ethan Morton led Purdue with seven assists.
The scrimmage was the lone public appearance for the Boilermakers. Purdue will host Truman State in an exhibition game on Nov. 2, beginning at 7 p.m. ET, at Mackey Arena.
