EUGENE, Ore. – Sophomore Safin Wills collected All-America accolades in the triple jump as the Purdue track & field team continued competition at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Wills was 15th overall in the triple jump as the first-year Boilermaker earned his best career NCAA finish and third All-America honor. It is the second Second Team All-America award for the Boilermakers in as many days after junior Isaiah Martin was ninth in the decathlon on Thursday.

In his second event of the championships, Wills' best mark was a jump of 15.86 meters. He fouled his first attempt and notched a mark of 15.63m on his third and final jump. The 15.86m is Wills' second-best wind-legal jump and his third-best overall in his career.

To finish 15th overall, Wills was named a Second Team All-American. That joins two Honorable Mention All-America honors, in the long jump on Wednesday with a 20th-place finish and in the triple jump in 2021, when he placed 22nd while at Texas Tech.
