DES MOINES, Iowa – The final meet of the regular season will see the Purdue track & field team make its return to the Drake Relays from April 28-30 in Des Moines, Iowa.

DES MOINES, Iowa – The final meet of the regular season will see the Purdue track & field team make its return to the Drake Relays from April 28-30 in Des Moines, Iowa.
 
Purdue's opening event at Drake Stadium is set for Thursday, April 28, at 6 p.m. ET. The day's running events conclude at 10 p.m. ET. On Friday, April 29, field events start at 12:30 p.m. ET and running events commence at 1 p.m. ET for the Old Gold and Black. Action on the track for the Boilermakers will conclude at approximately 9:10 p.m. ET. The Drake Relays conclude on Saturday, April 30, with Purdue's field events at 12:30 p.m. ET and track events at 2:20 p.m. ET. The team's final race ends at 4:15 p.m. ET.

Eighteen women and 17 men will compete this weekend at Drake Stadium.

ANOTHER B1G HONOR FOR WILLS
Sophomore Safin Wills earned his second Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week accolade on Wednesday after an impressive performance at the Indiana Invitational on Saturday. It is Wills' second accolade of the season, as he also was recognized on March 23.
 
A native of Rock Hall, St. Andrew, Jamaica, Wills is coming off a triple jump victory last weekend with a mark of 16.20m. That ranks No. 5 in school history and is the best in the Big Ten and sixth in the country. Wills is the only Big Ten jumper to eclipse 15.85 meters, which he did twice on Saturday.
 
IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Four Boilermakers appear in the fifth national TFRI top-25 rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Wills is No. 6 in the triple jump and No. 17 in the triple jump, sophomore Kaia Harris in the discus and the women's 4x400 relay are No. 18 and junior Isaiah Martin is No. 19 in the decathlon.
 
In the #EventSquad rankings, the Boilermaker men are No. 6 in the long jump, while the women are No. 16 in the 100m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: RECORD-SETTING WEEKEND AT IU
Purdue had a strong weekend at the Indiana Invitational from April 23-24, with 10 top-10 marks in program history, six victories and 25 personal-best marks in Bloomington, Indiana.
 
Four Boilermaker victories came with top-10 marks, courtesy of senior Antonio Mitchell II in the 100 meters, sophomore Cierra Williams in the 400m, the women's 4x400 relay and Wills in the triple jump. Harris, juniors Tyler Bowling and Bailey McIntire, sophomores Jabari Bryant and Deborah Obadofin and freshman Shianne Dacosta also had record-book performances at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex, while fifth-year senior Curt Eckstein and junior Camille Christopher won the 5,00m and 200m, respectively.

NEXT UP: POSTSEASON BEGINS
Up next, the Boilermakers head to the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 13-15. The conference's teams will descend on Minneapolis, Minnesota, as individual and team championships will be crowned.
