NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Purdue track & field team wrapped up the Meyo Invitational with 10 events on Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Purdue track & field team wrapped up the Meyo Invitational with 10 events on Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center in Notre Dame, Indiana.
 
Sophomore Caleb Williams won the 3,000m as five Boilermakers notched personal-best marks on Saturday.
 
In the morning race of the men's 3,000m, Williams finished in 8:21.22, a new personal-best time. He won by 0.40 seconds, and the top three finishers all crossed the line within 0.78 seconds. Freshman Brady Yoder placed sixth in 8:24.84. In the women's 3,000m, sophomore Meagan Hathaway was 33rd in 10:12.01.
 
Purdue's final event was the afternoon race of the men's 3,000m. Freshman Nathan Walker crossed the finish line in 12th overall with a time of 8:17.80.
 
The first field event for the Boilermakers was the women's pole vault, where freshman Anne Busse cleared 3.63m to place 11th.
 
The women's 400m saw junior Annamaria Leszczynska finish 13th in 56.56. In the men's race, junior Jabari Bryant was 14th in 48.92 and freshman Owen Schafer was 24th with a collegiate-best time of 49.68.
 
Two Boilermakers competed in the shot put. Junior Amaya King was 23rd in the women's event with a mark of 13.00m, while freshman Chris Huisman had a personal-best mark of 15.49m to finish 25th for the men.
 
Sophomores Luke Upton and Joey Kasch each raced in the men's mile. Upton was 26th in 4:13.90 to set a new PR and Kasch was 51st in 4:27.42.
 
Freshman Joseph Romanyk ran the men's 800m in 1:55.73 as he placed 40th.
 
On Friday, fifth-year senior Kelly Cook Jr. moved up in the school record books in the weight throw, with the seventh-best mark in Purdue history. He placed third and had one of three top-five finishes as nine Boilermakers competed on day one. A full recap of Friday's action can be found at PurdueSports.com/TrackField.
 
The 39-team field at the Meyo Invite included host-Notre Dame and Big Ten foes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Ohio State and Rutgers.
 
A highly-competitive weekend is up next, as the Boilermakers travel to Chicago for the Windy City Invitational. Competition is set for February 11-12 at the Track & Field Center at Gately Park.
