WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team kicks off its spring season this weekend, competing in the Big Ten Match Play Championship held at the Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida.

The event features two courses at the Hammock Beach Resort as 11 of the 14 teams will play the Ocean Course (par-72; 7,201 yards) and the Conservatory Course (par-72; 7,776 yards). Illinois, Ohio State and Michigan will not compete in the event.

The 11 teams have been drawn into a single-elimination bracket, with the seeds determined using the final fall Golfstat rankings from 2021. Each team match will consist of six individual matches. Play gets started on Friday morning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. ET. Purdue, Northwestern, Michigan State, Indiana and Penn State will all receive first-round byes.

Purdue will be the top seed in the event with a Golfstat ranking of No. 22. Purdue is looking for its second team title in the last five years, after sharing the title in 2018.

The Boilermakers will then face the winner of No. 8 seed Rutgers and No. 9 seed Wisconsin in a Friday afternoon match. The semifinals, finals and consolation matches will be contested on Saturday.

Purdue has finished second (2014), sixth (2015), third (2016), fifth (2017), first (2018), fifth (2019), fifth (2020) and seventh (2021) during Bradley's seven years at Purdue. The Boilermakers own a 16-7-6 record during that span.

Purdue's lineup will consist of Joe Weiler, Cole Bradley, Nick Dentino and then two from the group of Andrew Farraye, Luke Prall and Nic Hofman. Sophomore Herman Sekne will not compete this weekend as he was invited to participate in the prestigious Jones Cup Invitational.
