First Pitch Dinner Rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 11

The blizzard that rolled across Greater Lafayette and much of northern Indiana this week has led to the postponement of Purdue baseball's First Pitch Dinner to Friday, Feb. 11.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The blizzard that rolled across Greater Lafayette and much of northern Indiana this week has led to the postponement of Purdue baseball's First Pitch Dinner to Friday, Feb. 11.

Originally slated for Friday, Feb. 4 at 6:30 p.m. ET, the fourth annual preseason celebration of the program is moving back a week. It remains slated for 6:30 p.m. for Holloway Gymnasium on Friday, Feb. 11. Attendees that registered for the event can keep their tickets with no changes needed on their part. Those no longer able to attend on the new date may convert their ticket(s) to a student-athlete meal(s), donate the cost of their meal to the program, or request a refund by contacting the John Purdue Club at 765-494-2582 or jpc@purdue.edu.

Longtime big leaguer and Lafayette native Clayton Richard is the featured speaker for this year's First Pitch Dinner. He regularly trained at Purdue's facilities during his 11-year career at the big league level, during which he pitched for both the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs.

The event begins with a cocktail/social hour at 6:30 p.m. The program and honorees portion of the event follows dinner. Purdue baseball's Community Service Award recipient is also annually announced at the First Pitch Dinner. Player introductions and remarks from head coach Greg Goff are also featured.

The cost to attend this year is $50 per person or $500 per table. There is also an option of sponsoring a student-athlete's meal. The cost is also $50 to sponsor a student-athlete.

The First Pitch Dinner is slated to be streamed live on Purdue Athletics' Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.

Purdue baseball is hosting its Preseason Fan Fest on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Mollenkopf Athletic Center. It's a free all-ages indoor event with skill stations, inflatables and autographs.
