WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue men's tennis coach Pawel Gajdzik announced the newest addition to the roster for the 2021-22 season, as Julen Morgan committed to play for the Boilermakers. The five-star student-athlete, per the Tennis Recruiting Network, hails from Miami, Fla.

Morgan marks the third TRN five-star commitment to Purdue, following Gabriele Brancatelli and Rohan Sachdev.

"Julen is another amazing addition to our program," Gajdzik said. "He's an incredibly talented player on the court, a strong student and the type of individual that we want on our team. Julen has a multi-faceted skill set that will allow him to make an impact when he arrives on campus."

Morgan has vaulted up the TRN rankings over the last four years, from No. 99 as a freshman to No. 48 as a senior this season, as well as a career-high No. 41 mark in the Tennis RPI. He reached No. 2 in the Florida USTA Boys 18 rankings earlier this season.

The native of Miami took his UTR up to 11.5 and captured a pair of sectional singles titles in Florida, as well as earning runner-up honors in doubles at the USTA Nationals Level II in 2019. He also claimed the singles title at the USTA Florida Summer Smash Championships in Delray Beach, Fla., in 2020.

Over the last year, per TRN, Morgan is 26-17 in singles with two wins against blue chip recruits, three victories against fellow five-star athletes, and a 15-7 mark against all ranked opposition.
