WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Highlighted by a pair of home meets at Lambert Fieldhouse, the Purdue track & field team's 2021-22 indoor schedule has been announced.

The season begins in West Lafayette with the Fred Wilt Open on December 4, and continues with nine more regular-season meets, the Big Ten Championships and the NCAA Championships. The Boilermakers' travels will take them to Chicago, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, Texas and Alabama in addition to three in-state road meets.

"We are looking forward to the upcoming year, and we have a nice schedule on a more national stage this season," Purdue coach Norbert Elliott said. "Last year we were restricted to Big Ten schools, so it'll be nice to compete more nationally against other schools while taking advantage of our close proximity to many great indoor sites. Our first two meets are at home, with the opener allowing us to shake off the rust, before we travel to the Big Ten Invite in Chicago. We also have some highly-competitive meets in Iowa, Kentucky, Texas and Indiana in the regular season, which we're looking forward to."

After a truncated, Big Ten-only schedule last winter, Purdue returns to a traditional schedule in 2021-22.

The slate begins on Saturday, December 4, with the Fred Wilt Open at Lambert Fieldhouse. A month later, the Boilermakers are back home on Saturday, January 8, for the Gene Edmonds Open.

Purdue makes the short trip to Chicago for the Big Ten Invitational on January 15, and the squad has its first two-day meet of the year at the Iowa Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa, from January 21-22.

The Boilermakers will split up on January 28-29, with the majority of the team competing at the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, Kentucky. The distance runners will run at the IU Relays in Bloomington, Indiana.

A trip to the Meyo Classic at Notre Dame is up next on February 4-5, followed by another two-meet weekend on February 11-12. The sprinters, jumpers and multi-event athletes will compete at the Texas Tech Shootout in Lubbock, Texas, while the throwers and distance runners return to Chicago for the Windy City Invitational.

The regular season concludes with the Alex Wilson Invite, hosted by Notre Dame, on February 19.

Championship season begins at the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 25-26. The conference championship meet returns to the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

Two weeks later, Birmingham, Alabama, hosts the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, on March 11-12.

Purdue's outdoor slate will follow, and the schedule will be announced at a later date.
