WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's basketball team will close out the St. Pete Showcase on Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. tip against No. 17/22 Florida State. The Boilermakers vie for third place at the tournament and go for their first ranked win since the 2018-19 season.

Purdue saw a total effort come up short in its first ranked test of the season against No. 22/23 West Virginia, falling 65-57. The Boilermakers got a team-high 13 points from Brooke Moore, while Cassidy Hardin chipped in 12 points on four 3-pointers. Despite being plus-eight in the rebounding battle, Purdue could not muster a game-tying shot when the gap was down to a single possession in the second half. Sophomore Ra Shaya Kyle only played five minutes due to foul trouble early in both halves.
