Bush, Colvin Selected for Big Ten Weekly Honors

Following a pair of wins over Northwestern and No. 3 Wisconsin, the Big Ten Conference office has named Hayley Bush Co-Big Ten Setter of the Week and Raven Colvin both the Freshman of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Following a pair of wins over Northwestern (3-0) and No. 3 Wisconsin (3-1), the Big Ten Conference office named Hayley Bush Co-Big Ten Setter of the Week and Raven Colvin both the Freshman of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.

The recognition is the first of Colvin's career and the fifth of Bush's career, including second time this season. Additionally, Colvin is the first Boilermaker since Faye Adelaja (2013) to earn the dual freshman and defensive honors in the same week.

Bush posted a pair of double-doubles last week with 31 assists and 11 digs in three sets vs. Northwestern and another 49 assists and 14 digs vs. No. 3 Wisconsin. Moreover, the finance graduate student went errorless on the attack against the Badgers, posting five kills on nine attempts for a .556 efficiency. Compiling 11.43 assists per set and 3.57 digs per set, Bush set the Boilermakers up for a .352 attack % vs. Northwestern, their 3rd Big Ten match this season hitting over .350. Bush is joined by Ohio State's Mac Podraza with the Big Ten accolade.

Meanwhile, Colvin, a freshman, led the Big Ten with 2.57 stuffs per set. Setting the tone against the Badgers, Colvin posted 11 total blocks in the victory, including 10 block assists – the third-most in Purdue history in a four-set match. Colvin helped to limit the most efficient team in the Big Ten to a .197 hitting %. Moreover, Colvin is just the third freshman since 2009 to post double-digit blocks in a single match. Prior to Wisconsin, Colvin totaled eight kills with one error on 12 swings (.583 hitting %) vs. Northwestern and seven total blocks (2-5).

As a team, Bush and Colvin helped Purdue register the third-highest marks in the league with a 15.14 kills per set, a .262 hitting % and 13.86 assists per set.
